Kirk Holloway: A Texas Troubadour
Deep in the heart of Texas, amidst the twang of guitars and the sway of cowboy hats, Kirk Holloway's music finds its home. A full-time troubadour, he graces the stages of Dallas-Fort Worth with over 220 performances each year.
Growing up surrounded by the melodies of country legends like Hank Williams, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings, Holloway's music is a reflection of his deep-rooted connection to country music, Texas, and its heritage. His debut EP, 'Lonesome in the Lone Star State,' released in 2019, received international radio play and a solid 4/5 stars from Country Music People magazine.
But Holloway's journey to becoming a mainstay of the DFW music scene wasn't without its twists and turns. After facing discouragement from a CEO on Nashville's famed Music Row, who suggested he wasn't on par with the Nashville sound, Holloway's resolve was tested. Despite that discouragement, he still found success in his home state of Texas.
Just as he was hitting his stride in the Dallas music scene, the world was struck by the COVID-19 pandemic, halting live music performances and disrupting the industry. Holloway found himself picking up a warehouse job to keep the lights on. It wasn’t until the firm persuasion of his wife, in 2022, that he decided to leave behind his full-time warehouse job and pursue a career in music. It was a leap of faith, driven by his unwavering passion for the craft and a deep love for country music.
Whether he's playing in a cozy corner of a restaurant or a packed honky-tonk, Holloway always delivers a truly passionate performance. With each strum of his guitar and each note of his voice, he invites listeners to join him on a journey through the heart of Texas, where every song tells a story. Beyond his own compositions, Holloway's repertoire includes a blend of classic country tunes and unexpected gems, each delivered with his own signature style. It's this authenticity and passion that have resonated with audiences across Texas and beyond.
With singles like 'Wrong Ways' and 'Someday' gaining traction, Holloway's musical journey continues to evolve. As he serenades audiences under the Texas stars, Kirk Holloway remains a true songbird of the Lone Star State, singing melodies that echo the spirit of its people
